A man was left red-faced after surprising his wife by getting their wedding date tattooed on his arm – but got it wrong.
TikTok star Ashley Carlevato, @murphyandmay, said that her husband wanted to do something nice to mark their first wedding anniversary, so went to go get their wedding date inked on his arm.
He chose to have ‘1,1,19’, for Jan 1, 2019, written in Roman numerals, but something must have got lost in communication as he was left with 11,919 instead.
Ashley shared the clip for her fans online and quipped “I knew I should have Googled it for him!”
In the clip, Ashley said: “He was supposed to get our wedding date in Roman numerals on his arm. We got married on Jan 1, 2019 (1.1.19), But instead, he got 11,919.
“I knew I should have googled it for him!”
The video has now been viewed over two million times, and has attracted thousands of comments from social media users.
One said: “Don’t ever get matching tattoos with your S/O. It jinxs the relationship. I know too many who have matching and are either no longer together or they argue and fight all the time.”
And another wrote: “I want to tattoo ours in Roman numerals but I’m TERRIFIED of this happening.”
A third added: “My husband was supposed to get our wedding date tattooed (2.23.19), turned out he actually got 2.33.19.”
While a fourth said: “I got my daughters birthdate in Roman numerals and I checked a million times before to make sure it was correct.”
